Luka Sirbiladze

May 2021 - Beethoven Piano Sonata

Luka achieved fantastic results and I can proudly see how far he has gone!

As of 2019 he is no longer attending my classes and passed Grade 8 and Diploma since then. We meet quite often though and he provided this video along with kind permission to publish it on my website.

November 2018 - Grade 7

I am extremely proud to see Luka's progress. Looking back at where we started I can see all the hard work and effort, talent and persistence.

Grade 7 passed with Merit and he was quite upset about it as we were working towards Distinction.

1. Chopin's Nocturne in C Sharp Minor is such a beautiful piece and Luka has done huge job to master the techniques and dynamics.

2. Forcing the place by Christopher Norton is a bit jazzy modern piece. It is quite difficult to keep up with the rhythm when playing it and although rhythm is not Luka's strongest side he managed to express the whole beauty of it, not to mention excellent technique.

3. Fugue in C by J S Bach. Very technical piece and Luka plays it at his usual best!

April 2018

Another huge step forward! Congratulation on passing Grade 6 practical with Distinction!

The work gets harder and curriculum gets more and more challenging. But so does Luka's persistence!

Woop woop!!! Keep it up!!!

Very well done Luka!!!

January 2017

   One year on...

And again - Luka is among my very best performing students!

Incredibly hardworking and dedicated! He never skips lessons, always concentrated, stays highly focused throughout our sessions and always prepares immaculate homework! I can't wish for a better student!

I asked him once how long does he practice every day - just wanted to know how long does he exceeds my recommended 1 hour per day for. The answer was - he spends between 2 and 3 hours at the piano everyday!

Luka loves music. He is genuinely interested and our lessons are always highly important for him. He is blessed with ever so supportive and intelligent parents educating him comprehensively and motivating Luka in every possible way, taking him to various concerts and music venues. Although I think the biggest motivation is in his own heart.

Luka has recently passed his practical Grade 4 exam with distinction and we are now working towards his Grade 5. Obviously it has never been my aim to get as many grades as possible in the shortest period possible and we are learning many beautiful pieces outside the ABRSM programme. And besides that Luka always has something that he finds even outside my own curriculum!

Good luck Luka although I am not really sure you need luck with your hard work and aptitudes! Just don't slow the pace!

December 2015

Grade 2 pieces. He chosen the hardest ones possible. And absolutely MASTERED them! Well done my dear! You are amazing!
Luka is incredibly hardworking boy! Despite sometimes having troubles with rhythms and not having that natural perception of music he developed the ability to bring every piece he is working on to the perfection. He works, he listens, he learns and absorbs like a sponge! He does his homework like no one else! Lessons with him are always productive and pleasure to carry out. He is practicing even while on holiday (just seen the photo his father posted from Tbilisi).
Whatever I say - it is not enough to praise his unbelievable persistence! And here is a results: long waited and well deserved Grade 2 Pass with Distinction! Excellent job! Keep it up!!!

June 2014

This video is a first little performance of my wonderful pupil Luka. He is 8 and I must say he is quite an extraordinary person. He is home educated by his parents and is one of my few morning students. Luka started taking my lessons in October 2013 and to be honest wasn't doing great at first. It was a bit of a challenge to get him interested and took a lot of my effort and skills before he reached his today's potential. Very important that he's been very well encouraged and supported by his parents. He has a very nice instrument at home which also contributes a lot to the child's will to learn. So at some point Luka got carried away and started working harder and harder and by now he is one of my most advanced students in his age group. He makes a steady progress and his learning is getting even faster - lesson after lesson, thanks to his diligence and persistence. Well done Luka and I hope you don't get spoiled with these compliments and carry on working like you do!
