Nataliya Slyusarchuk,

music teacher

My name is Nataliya Slyusarchuk, I am full time private piano teacher. I have been teaching piano in the UK since 2012. To see my experience and qualifications please select the Qualification tab form the menu above. There are other pages on this website you might find useful like Location, Pricing, Gallery, Feedback - all accessible from the menu.

My music lessons include teaching piano, sightreading and music theory (according to the student’s level), as well as developing the aural skills.

My youngest students are 6 years old and the eldest i had were 75 years young. I don't take children younger than 6 as they require different approach.

If you or your child are keen to learn piano please contact me and if there is a vacant place available, we can start from arranging the fist assessment lesson* where I will run a few tests to evaluate candidate's aptitude, sense of rhythm, music ear and desire to learn. At the same time the candidate (and in case it's a child, a parent) can see how suitable I and my approach are and if all parties are happy, I can enrol a new student for regular (normally weekly) classes.

I take passion in my job and aim at high results. Being a demanding teacher I believe that punctuality and discipline are very important for achieving the goals we all desire. I expect students to be well behaved at my lessons. If the student is a child, I believe it is parents' responsibility to prepare a child accordingly. I expect parents to make sure that practising at the instrument is taken on regular basis and the homework is done for the upcoming lesson. Failing this means that tuition might bring very limited results. Of course all children are different and I have huge experience of getting on really well with my students but expect parents do their part.

I work one to one with my students and parent(s) are normally only allowed to be present at my classes for the first assessment lesson and then occasionally once in the while if they want to see how the lessons go, the progress etc. There are exceptions but generally it is my strict requirement.

There is another very requirement to a potential student. It is very hard to play piano without a piano😉. If you haven’t got a full sized (88 keys) piano at home it will be very difficult to learn. Unfortunately small keyboards are not very useful, even expensive ones, perhaps only at the very first few steps. So if you decide to take piano lessons you will need a full sized instrument. I can potentially advise you how to choose a piano which will suit your needs and satisfy your budget. There is a wide variety of options available from various music stores both on high street and online. You must be prepared to choose one for yourself or your child.

I normally teach in English but I also can teach in my native Ukrainian, or combine them if it needed for the best results.

I teach from home in Millbrook Park. You will find my exact location under the 'Location' tab.

If you interested please contact my partner Ivan who is helping me with admin, new enquiries and to manage my diary. You will find his and my contact details under the Contact tab in the above menu. It is best to text/WhatsApp, email or fill in the contact form as I am rarely able to answer the phone.

* Assessment lesson charged at the same price as normal lesson. There is no commitment to continue. For full details please see the Pricing tab.
